Despre carte

As the Swinging Sixties come to a close, Jane Yeadon leaves behind her adventures as a student midwife and fulfills her dream of becoming a district nurse in the Highlands. With a brand new job to do, Jane faces up to fresh challenges with her usual positive outlook and good humor. She meets a fascinating cast of quirky characters, like the strong and stoical nursing superintendent Sister MacLeod, sage Sister Shiach and her dog Jomo, gentle brothers Willie and Jock, the formidable former Girl Guides leader Miss Forbes, and the fruity Captain Saunders-Hewitt, who has a twinkle in his eye and a rather bohemian lifestyle.

And as she settles into her new life, Jane soon finds she's at the heart of both her new community and the action, and needs to think quickly on her feet. Call Me Sister is a fascinating and uplifting insight into the world of the district nurse as Jane Yeadon encounters the highs and lows of life in a Highland community.
