The Avengers assembled: the origin story of Earth's mightiest heroes

"Drawing on the events of the original comic books, this in-depth retelling is a revelatory, blow-by-blow exploration of the origin and evolution of Marvel's premier team of super heroes: their strengths; their faults; their motivations; and their sometimes volatile relationships. The book culminates with the Kree-Skrull War -- the event that catapulted the Avengers from protectors of Earth to protectors of the universe -- and the dawn of an exciting new Avengers era as new members take on classic mantles.
